What is your IPS Tag (for Nominet domains)?

For Nominet domains (those that usually end in .uk such as .co.uk), the IPS tag used to transfer a domain to us is JABWEB (normally entered in capitals, although it shouldn't matter as the name is unique).

Initiating a transfer

Before initiating a transfer on a Nominet domain you first need to select the domain to be transferred to us via our Order Page. While there is no cost to transfer a domain, you may be requested to pay to extend the registration of the domain for either two years upon completion. If this is the case, we'll raise a separate Quote for you.

Once processed and accepted, you will be informed by e-mail and a 'window' will be created within Nominet so it can accept the domain into our account once you have changed the IPS tag. Depending on the releasing registrar, the transfer of the domain can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 10 days.

Hot to change the IPS tag

Please contact your current registrar for information about changing the IPS tag for your domain.

If the domain doesn't transfer successfully...

If you believe that this has happened to your domain, please Submit a Ticket to our Support Team who will investigate, and update with you what the next step will be.
