How do I add a domain to my Plesk account?

All of our packages can host multiple domains, allowing you to handle more than one site from a single account. The larger the package you are using, the more domains you can add to it.

Please note that when you add a domain to Plesk, Plesk will not register it, transfer it or update the name-servers for it, on your behalf (regardless of whether it's registered with us or not).

For all new domains, you will need ensure it has been registered and that the name-servers (or IP settings) are point to us for the domain to work with Plesk.

Setup

  • First, log onto Plesk using your username and password.

  • Click on the Add New Domain icon above the list of domains.

  • In the text box on the next page enter the domain name (including the TLD, i.e. example.com or example.co.uk, but not with the www. bit, such as www.example.com).

  • If you do not wish to have the 'www.' prefix point to the main domain (i.e. www.example.com is not the same as example.com), de-select the tick-box next to www. If you are unsure, leave it enabled.

  • If you simply wish to add the domain to your account and do not want to setup any hosting for it (e.g. you are only interested in using e-mail facilities and do not want to run a web site), de-select Proceed to hosting setup on the right.

  • Click OK.

If you have left Proceed to hosting setup enabled, then please see the article 'How do I configure a domain to host a website?' for our article on how to select and configure the type of hosting you want to use.

Don't forget to take a look at the following articles for details on how to configure the name-servers of the domain (if not yet done so), and how to transfer the domain to us (if you wish):
