I have purchased a domain. How long until it's activated?

All domain name registrations, renewals and transfers are handled by our billing software, ModernBill, through our registrar, eNom.

Once you have paid your invoice(s) in full, ModernBill will create a request to eNom, which are processed in batches every 20 minutes. If eNom has accepted the request, you will receive an e-mail giving you information about your domain and confirmation that the request has been accepted.

For registrations, you will normally be able to access the domain within a few hours (depending on how long it takes the registrar to accept the request and update the root servers). For transfers, this can take up to 7-10 days.

Receipt of the e-mail however does not guarantee the the request will succeed. If there are any problems after we send the details to eNom (e.g. Nominet tells eNom it cannot register the domain with these settings), the registration will fail and we will be informed by e-mail.

In this event, we will manually attempt to register the domain to ensure the request succeeds. If there are continuing problems, we will contract you directly to apprise you of the situation.
